- Domain Authority (DA) is an SEO indicator invented by Moz.
- It rates a site's credibility on a scale of 1 to 100.
- It is not directly taken into account by Google.
- It allows you to compare your site to the competition.
- The DA depends mainly on backlinks and their quality.
- There are other similar scores, such as DR or TF.
- You can increase your DA with good content and solid links.
- Tools such as Moz, Ahrefs or Majestic allow you to measure this.
What is Domain Authority (DA)?
When I first discovered SEO, this term came up all the time: Domain Authority, or DA. Created by Moz, it's a score from 1 to 100 that estimates the likelihood of a site ranking well in search results. The higher the score, the more reliable and influential your site is seen to be.
It's not a magic number, but it's a powerful indicator of where you stand in relation to others. If you're just starting out, don't panic if your score is low - it's normal. Everyone starts somewhere.
